About Chapter 217
Chapter 217 of the Experimental Aircraft Association, based
at Kenosha Airport (KENW) in Kenosha, WI just West of the city of Kenosha, was
chartered in 1965 as the "Rambleaires" with Bill Sterba as President.
Since then we have gone through many changes. These changes are what make the
Chapter what it is today. We currently are a diverse group of approximately 20
members. We have pilots and non-pilots, builders and non-builders. All are
aviation enthusiasts.
We are a very active chapter for our size. In addition to our monthly meetings,
we have fund raising events, a Newsletter, Young Eagles Rallies, a summer
picnic, several flyouts during the summer, and an Annual Awards Banquet.
Several of our members have project aircraft. These include everything from
puddle jumpers and classic aircraft to serious cross-country speedsters.
Meetings:
Normal meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at the Kenosha
Regional Airport, 7:00pm. Winter meetings are held in the terminal building
adjacent to the control tower. Summer meetings are held at Tom Lubben's hangar
located on the south ramp. Specific times and locations are noted in the
Chapter Newsletter.
